After renovating our house I had run out of ideas for our daughter’s bedroom and needed help! After seeing Ursula’s portfolio I knew she would be the perfect designer to create a beautiful, calm and interesting room for our 3 year old daughter, a space that she wanted to be in and was proud of. It has certainly been the case, she loves to take her friends to see her room and play. She has a wonderful snug bed area that she loves to get into and I am happy because the room, however messy, always looks beautifully stylish.
We’ve loved working with Ursula. We really appreciated the time she took to get to know us as a family and how she used that to come up with solutions that worked for us; nothing felt ‘off the peg’ it felt totally customised for us. She also found the perfect balance between taking our input and not being shy about challenging us when she thought our ideas wouldn’t work. I was also impressed with how she managed cost – knowing where and when it made sense to invest and where it wasn’t needed. And of course, the output looks fantastic! We will definitely use her again and would highly recommend her.
After getting Ursula to design our son’s room there was no question who we were going to ask her to do our daughter’s nursery. It’s now without doubt, the most beautiful room in the house.
Ursula has been absolutely instrumental in helping us create our dream nursery. She has offered us a very flexible way of working with a perfect balance of inspirational recommendations while maintaining her point of view. She has helped us shape our vision and guided us throughout this very special process of preparing to welcome our first baby.

We are very grateful to Ursula for creating such a beautiful space for Dylan to grow up in. We wanted to use an interior designer to get the best use out of the space we had and to create something long lasting as well as gorgeous – and we are really pleased with the end result. One of my key criteria was a black out blind for my (very) early rising son – not easy to achieve in an inset sash window but Ursula persevered and found a great solution, showing that her talents lie both in great design but also the practicalities of a child’s room.
As soon as I learned that I was expecting twins I started dreaming of creating a beautiful nursery. My husband and I decided not to find out their gender until their birth so I knew I wanted something neutral, calming, not too crowded and in Scandinavian style. I also knew I wanted to retain a professional to guide me through the design process and help me make the right choices. Looking for an interior designer on the Internet I found Ursula’s blog and immediately fell in love with her work. I thought hers was exactly the style I wanted for the twins’ nursery. Working with her was a real pleasure. She understood what I wanted, she would make different suggestions and in the end it was me who made the decisions but her guidance was key in achieving a result that I’m very happy with. My husband is very happy with the nursery as well, he actually loves it! I can’t wait to hold my babies and show them what a nice room we created for them. Thanks Ursula!
We are really happy with the nursery that Ursula has created for us, it feels calm and peaceful and Tobias loves being in there. The cupboard houses really make the room, everyone who walks in comments on them and they make the space feel special. Ursula put a lot of thought into everything that was chosen, from the nightlight down to the colours for the rocking chair, so the room feels really ‘together’ without being too themed. We absolutely love it and will definitely get her in for the next one!
Working with you was wonderful. You had so many good ideas and thought about practical things that I never would have that ended up being so important – like how the light would effect the room and positioning the bed so Jonah would feel safe and cozy. I also felt like you really listened to ideas I had and made them so much better and more vibrant.
The thing I’ve been the most pleased with was how much he LOVES it. So much so that when we first moved and it was all new, he kept inviting anyone that came over – including delivery people and our handyman up to see his room. He’d basically greet anyone at the entry with “Want to come see my room?” He is so proud of it. I remember his first words when he came up to see it were “WOW MAMA COOL”.
I love that he’ll actually stay there and play in the mornings instead of coming down to find me right away.
We were all really pleased with the bedroom; the cabin bed built under an awkward under-the-stairs sloping roof was a design and use of space that we would never have thought of ourselves, and turned what we thought of as a weak point of the room’s layout into a positive strength.
The room feels lighter and bigger, and has infinitely more storage; it’s a design that will hopefully take Georgie through from primary school to her teenage years without needing to be changed as she grows.
She and her friends enjoy putting on “shows” using the cabin bed with its curtains as a stage, and the fold-down nature of the desk means that it can be folded away so that there’s plenty of space for her friends to sleepover.
Georgie also loves closing the bed curtains to create a snug den, and the fact that there is plenty of room in a space down the bottom of the bed and on the inner shelves for all her numerous cuddly toys. I also appreciate that the woodwork wipes clean easily.
Ursula dedicated a lot of time and expertise to get Georgie’s room looking perfect, while working to a fairly tight timetable. It really mattered to her that we got things just right, and she made the whole process of both design and implementation both easy and enjoyable – we can highly recommend her work, and would love to work with her again.
My husband and I had never worked with a designer before, so we weren’t quite sure what to expect. Ursula was just amazing! She took the time to really understand us and what we were after for our nursery so that it worked with the style of our house. She presented us with several style and price options and even helped us scout out bargains on the internet. She thought of everything right down to the last detail. In the end we have a nursery that, like our daughter, is the heart and soul of our home. Our baby spent her first night in there at four months old and slept like a dream! I would never have been able to do a nursery like this myself. She went above and beyond our expectations and we are very grateful.
I had ideas about what I wanted, but with Ursula’s input I could raise it to another level. I was really surprised that this was possible without making it expensive or over the top. Discussing Ursula’s constant stream of ideas and photo inspirations made it a dynamic process that led to the end result in a natural way. I love how cosy and calm the room feels now, it’s a lovely space to be in.
Ursula designed my six year old son’s bedroom and it looks amazing. He loves it and so do we. Ursula involved him in the design, especially choosing the colours and the decorations. She really made the most of the beautiful period fireplace and even suggested how we could re-vamp our old bunk bed. Everything works together beautifully. The bedroom is a real “wow” room now.
We are both from a theatrical background and we had lots of ideas but needed some direction with how to focus these ideas into a practical picture that would have longevity as Christian grew.
We only had a couple of meetings with Ursula in addition to a few emails and phone calls but she was able to take what we were requesting and hone them into 4 ideas of how the nursery could double up as a small office space for our small flat.
Immediately we were impressed with how well Ursula had listened to us and made our adhoc visions into a beautiful space that was not only lovely to look at but something that focused on both Christian and our needs without the 2 hindering the space. Christian had a wonderful environment of his own and our office space was cleverly hidden in a built in wardrobe. We never imagined this unique requirement would work so well, but her experience in interiors shone through.
Ursula was very professional and was always available to talk to and no matter what sort of question or concern we had she was able to reassure us. Her friendly and open character made it a pleasant and fun experience for us. We have recommended her to friends and would not hesitate to do so again in the future.

I got completely stuck trying to imagine what to do with our son’s nursery. Ursula simplified the process by helping me narrow down the choices. I love trees, so she suggested bringing nature inside with a wallpaper tree mural, which I absolutely adore! I love how calm the room feels, and Felix loves looking at the leaves.
Ursula was a pleasure to work with. She has inspirational ideas that cover all aspects of a room’s design from the feel of the room, to the layout and also the decor. Ursula has a professional yet soft manner, and I would recommend her to everyone!

Ursula took the time to understand my preferences and personal style to get the brief for our nursery exactly right and I was extremely impressed with her resulting design. She got my style spot-on. It was like she had visited and seen the rest of our house. The design was such a compliment to our other rooms. She selected pieces that I would not have thought of myself but that I loved. I would recommend Room to Bloom for a personal, professional service with a beautiful eye for design.
